When most athletes hear “core,” they think of abs. But your core acts as your body’s engine. It connects your upper and lower body, stabilizes your spine, and transfers force every time you sprint, jump, or change direction.
Explosive power starts with how efficiently you can transfer that force. A strong core keeps your body aligned and lets your limbs move faster and more efficiently. Without it, you lose energy in every step (kind of like trying to shoot a cannon out of a canoe!)
At A3, our athletes train core strength through movement, not sit-ups.
Think: anti-rotation holds, med-ball slams, resisted sprints, and heavy carries. These build stability and control under dynamic load which is the type of strength that actually translates to sport! A strong core doesn’t just make you powerful, it makes you durable. It’s what keeps you balanced when you cut, stable when you land, and explosive when it counts.
