The owners of A3 Sports Performance, Ryan and Kalli, are the green smoothie pros. In fact, if you’ve ever had a conversation with Ryan, he has most likely given you tips to making a nutritious smoothie. A smoothie is an easy way to pack in the nutrients and quickly replenish your day.
Why do we love our green smoothies? Greens are essential for maintaining a strong body, providing sustained energy, and protecting against illness. Greens are a powerhouse for keeping your body and mind feeling good! But, we get it- it can be hard to get in all your greens everyday. That’s why we love making this smoothie. It’s our “go-to” for making sure we are getting all those essential nutrients and vitamins.
This smoothie is very customizable, and you can make it with lots of ingredients you already have on hand. (It’s also a great way to use up any greens or fruit before they go bad!)
Try out this simple and delicious green smoothie to pack your day with nutrients!
Green Smoothie Recipe
In a blender, combine:
- 1 cup milk or milk alternative
- 1-2 cups water
- 1-2 frozen bananas
- 2 Tbsp peanut butter
- A scoop of protein powder
- 1 scoop cocoa powder (fact: pure cocoa powder has no sugar, and is packed with antioxidants, fiber, and a low but balanced ratio of carbs, fat, and protein)
- 1 cup of spinach
Bonus: To pack in more nutrients, add another cup of spinach or an avocado and 2 Tbsp flax or chia seed!
Tip: Try to meal prep this green smoothie to grab-and-go during a busy week! Keep your smoothie in an insulated water bottle to keep it cold and refreshing all day long.
